Get buy-in from prescribers to achieve this and from nursing home providers.

Conduct a physician education intervention

Sit down and talk with each physician individually about ASB


Progress on PDSA Cycle 1

Stewardship meeting will take place at the end of Feb – will discuss ASB project and share data there.

 

Discuss ASB 101 at stewardship meeting and share data (add takeaways to study portion of PDSA cycle). Very receptive to presentation.

  1. Will attend med staff meeting (occurs monthly) to discuss SMART goal ideas based on Bend Bayou’s data.
  2. Will reach out to admitting hospitalist for nursing home patients on ideas to lower treatment of ASB.

Potential SMART goals and areas of focus to present to stakeholders:

  1. Reduce ASB treatment by 20%
  2. Reduce unnecessary urine cultures
  3. Increase IV to PO (clarify urosepsis)
