Zahra Kassamali Escobar is a clinical pharmacist at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle Washington and serves as Co-Medical Director at the Center for Stewardship in Medicine. She has been practicing clinically 15 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with extensive experience supporting patients across diverse care environments. Zahra is passionate about working with rural and critical access hospitals, where she partners with clinicians and administrators to implement practical, evidence-based quality improvement strategies. She has a strong interest in fostering data-driven, innovative approaches that not only improve patient care but also strengthen professional networks and local communities. CSiM is important to Zahra because it provides a platform for learning and collaboration to advance safe, thoughtful, and sustainable medical practices that center on patients as people.
