Asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB) is a common finding in urine cultures in our organization leading to inappropriate antimicrobial prescriptions. We will develop educational materials on ASB for our providers. By January 2023 all providers will receive the educational materials.

Core Elements

Educating clinicians about resistance and optimal prescribing.

Reporting

Regular reporting information on antibiotic use and resistance to doctors, nurses and relevant staff.

Tracking

Monitoring antibiotic prescribing and resistance patterns.
