Nov 1. Shauna P’s start date at Blue Mountain and transition data collection from Maisie to Shauna.
- SP on point for all infection prevention at BM (and EVS, Employee Health)
- Continue to collect and submit data to redcap survey
- Observe processes for collection
- Tracked age of patient, if abx were prescribed and duration of abx therapy
- Meeting scheduled in March 2023 with nurse educator to plan for mitigation plan
- Collected urine samples in clinic, inpatient, and ER
- Recorded the collecting RN, MA, and lab techs
- Recorded the lab tech who processed the samples
- Identified contamination issue with urine cultures (27% are contaminated). Presented findings to med staff in March 7, 2023
- Approx. half treated with abx.
- Abx prescribed before urine sensitivity data . Culture and sensitivity
- Will review prescribers of abx for ASB
- Shared data with clinic manager, lab manager, med staff meetings (clinic, inpatient, and ED)
- Personnel includes 6 MAs, 6RNs, 4 lab techs, 5 physicians/APPs, and locums/residents
- Making clinical connection for patients who require treatment when culture data are delayed
